Structural Heart Care

Austin Cardiovascular Clinic provides evaluation and coordinated care for heart valve disease and other structural heart conditions.

What it is

Structural heart conditions affect the heart's valves, walls, or chambers. Some are present from birth and others develop over time.

Care often begins with imaging, such as an echocardiogram, to see how the valves and chambers are working.

Why a patient may be evaluated

  • A heart murmur found during an exam
  • Shortness of breath, fatigue, or reduced ability to exercise
  • A known valve condition that needs monitoring

How we evaluate

Your provider reviews your symptoms and may order an echocardiogram or transesophageal echo (TEE). These symptoms can have many causes. A cardiovascular evaluation can help determine the underlying issue.
